I've done mine a bit backwards - I have a mentor but haven't registered yet (she needs to complete mentor training first)

I'm in the final stage and couldn't have done it without my mentor, she's been amazing...and patient!

my mentor had to train first also. I am thinking of running my porfolio by one of the candidate support officers as well, since they've seen alot of portfolios.

I found my mentor from the list on CILIP website. Already finding the support useful.

Useful to know the PPDP is a working document - my mentor has encouraged me to start putting this together soon

I put off doing my PPDP for ages, for fear of getting it wrong, but it really is a work in progress!

Sorting the actions/outcomes/evidence was a bit harder than it seemed it would

I chose a couple of mentors from website emailed first one with my CV and info about me and she agreed to be my mentor.

Slide 6 - Why do we need portfolios?

I am linking my PPDP to my work appraisal - I thought very carefully about areas I want to focus on for Chartership and they all link to my work targets

most link to my work appraisal, but some are working towards my (ideal) next professional role, so pushing a bit further

That's a good plan. I'm hoping to work on some skills I might need in future too

it was kind of a way to coerce my organisation into giving me access to new levels of information/insight

I'm quite fortunate in that I'm able to do a lot of this via my involvement in committees

the purpose of Chartership really is individual...

Yes - something I really like about Chartership (from what I know so far) is that it is totally dependent on the individual

A wiki is a great idea, I might try that - I've got various Google spreadsheets going but it gets a bit confusing!
