n mid February, state tv broadcasted the protests in the centre of Moscow. The journalists' reporting was liberated and they reported on these events, but still state media controlled the message sent to the public.

Russia has 50-60 million internet users and internet played an important role during the election. Nasji group were extremly active on the internet in campaigning for Putin.
