3:14the picky one:

American Idol was AWESOME!!!

6:19matt headley:

Hey Michelle, I responded about your voting stuff

7:41matt headley:

on facebook, not on the blog itself

9:19jonevanstv:

what deid you say

9:39matt headley:

I explained the whole unaffiliated voting in primaries

10:32the picky one:

VEER O Beach -- do you hate me yet?

10:45matt headley:

and something I found out via voting and emailing our county elections board

11:17matt headley:

Voting registration gets checked with Drivers' license

12:10matt headley:

When my wife and I got our drivers' license you can get registered to vote as well

12:59billystanley:

mmmmmmmmmade it.

13:22matt headley:

BUT I passed the stupid computer drivers test while my wife didn't. Because of that the voters registration went through for my wife but the drivers license check did not. So they asked for her DL at the polling place and now she won't have to check it

13:32matt headley:

again for the general election or hopefully ever again

14:34matt headley:

And I suggested that they know when you voted, verify your address verbally. If someone else comes in, uses your name AND address, they instantly know something's up and can deal with it. Voter ID laws = totally unnecessary

14:38billystanley:

How do I get myself "unaffiliated"?

14:57matt headley:

I guess somehow change your registration through your county board of elections

15:54billystanley:

When I voted, they asked for my address and kept me from seeing it on the sheet.

15:56matt headley:

I chose to vote for the Republican primary list instead of democrats. I want to have a say on that side especially.

16:13billystanley:

They did NOT ask for ID.

16:47billystanley:

If someone was going to steal my vote, they would have to know my address & voting location.

16:57Mike Phipps:

seems like a lot trouble for one (fraudulant) vote

17:25matt headley:

Yeah, exactly, they have to have the location as well. There are quite a few locations for my mailing address town alone

17:33billystanley:

Yeah, it would be hard to do on a large scale.

18:03billystanley:

What the heck are they banging?!

18:04matt headley:

There are theories that extra voting ID requirements are to prevent people from voting

18:13Mike Phipps:

exactly. you have to do it with dead people, and well, dead people are dead

18:25matt headley:

I've read reports that a lot of seniors are being screwed out of their vote

18:32the picky one:

VEER OH beach

18:49matt headley:

by voter ID laws

18:57the picky one:

to a Floridian!!!!????

19:05the picky one:

that would be me!

19:23matt headley:

States this year all of a sudden this year are requiring it and a lot of seniors don't have a drivers license, etc.

19:47billystanley:

Can't "steal" votes en masse, but you can certainly hinder them, which has the same affect.

20:15billystanley:

Add one, subtract one -- same result.

20:16Mike Phipps:

touche

20:34matt headley:

It's so pronounced this year from the Republican conservative side, it seems like they are attacking the poor? I'm trying to stay out of that fight and just attacking the lack of common sense of it

21:30matt headley:

Fox News Network likes to point out South Carolina's issue, saying 900 something votes were fraud, but the facts are they found amost all of them were clerical errors

22:24billystanley:

It's rrrrRRROOOBBBBB ELLIS!

22:34Andre Smith:

hi michelle

23:39matt headley:

They have a list and check you off

24:13matt headley:

If someone else votes in your name, your address, your polling location, they instantly know there's fraud. And it barely barely barely ever happens

24:35billystanley:

The counter to that is that you can HINDER votes by adding more hurdles, which has the same affect.

25:03matt headley:

Robb brings up another excellent point about the fees involved to obtain ID

25:12the picky one:

Rob is such a fountain of information!

26:34matt headley:

Just astounds me that the same party base that screams less government creates all these yeah but...s.

26:47billystanley:

What is it Nikki is doing?

29:01the picky one:

you can vote even if you live in a box under the bridge
