Did you know that 85% of videos on social platforms are watched with the sound off? When the vast majority of views are on mute, captions have become essential.
Our lab is constantly optimizing our Closed Captions and Subtitles functionalities, ensuring you don’t leave any views on the table.
Here is the run-down
Closed Captions on video and why they are important
Research from Verizon Media shows that 80% of the audience is more likely to watch an entire video when captions are available, and the explanation is multi-faceted.
Situations such as commuting, headphones without battery or scrolling your feed in a populated area and not wanting to disturb others are all common reasons to go sound off.
In addition, accessibility was a big factor in developing this solution, as people who are visually impaired and those with auditory issues both benefit greatly from text, either by allowing them to follow along via the captions themselves or take advantage of text-to-speech apps.
SEO and GEO optimize your videos for stronger impact
In addition to better accessibility, adding captions to your video also allows for better search engine rankings, whether in Google, AI search or on social platforms themselves.
Captions allow for better indexing of content, meaning it can be contextualized correctly and shown to the intended audience. Ultimately, this will help you reach more people who can benefit from your videos.
AI Subtitles better than Netflix!
“AI Subtitles better than Netflix!”, a powerful statement indeed, yet a direct quote from Clarins, who were among the first to try the feature and implement it across markets.
We decided to offer different subtitle functionalities as our clients’ workflows and preferences vary greatly.
For those who prioritize speed and lean operations, AI Subtitles will be just the fit. You can automatically generate high quality subtitles for your pre-recorded and ended shows via speech-to-text technology for unparalleled ease.
The feature automatically transcribes the audio from your video content to create synchronized subtitles, eliminating the need for manual transcription. Currently, we support more than 40 languages and add new ones regularly.
Closed Captions on any Shoppable Video
You can also opt to generate Closed Captions for any individual video, such as Shoppable Videos, directly in your Bambuser dashboard.
This function still does the heavy lifting for you, and allows you to fine tune the result, should you have intricate product names or special technologies mentioned during the show that might need refinement.
Under settings, you can select the language spoken in the video, and our system will automatically generate captions. You can of course edit or delete and download them as an .SRT file as you please.
For batch-application, you can enable captions for full playlists, too.
