Three Tips for Your UGC Strategy

Even though UGC is extremely powerful, surprisingly few brands have a dedicated strategy. While we don’t have enough space in this blog post for a full strategy, here are our top tips for getting started successfully:

1. Identify What Content Is Valuable for Your Brand
Before you start importing, get a good overview of what type of content exists about your brand. We recommend focusing on identifying evergreen content and enriching your core product pages first to minimize upkeep. From there, move on to more trend-based content or limited-edition assortments. Be quick about adding content to these PDPs (Product Detail Pages), as their life cycles are inherently shorter, and you want to be as persuasive as possible right away.

2. Encourage Your Customers to Create
To ensure a constant stream of new content, encourage your customers to share their experiences with your products. You can offer incentives, such as featuring their content on your social channels and giving the creator a shout-out, providing store credits to top creators, or sending out products for reviews.

3. Don’t Forget About Compliance
While being featured on a favorite brand’s website or social media is a cool prospect for many, don’t forget about intellectual property rights. The creator of a piece of content is the owner of that content, so remember to ask for permission before sharing anything your fans create.
