Find out how L'Oréal Professionel Paris uses Bambuser to broadcast live masterclasses from world-renowned hairstylists to thousands of hairdressers across markets, in local languages, with real-time Q&A.
The challenge: running a live masterclass in 12 languages at once
Hairdressers around the world follow the same icons – celebrated professionals whose techniques and creativity define the industry. But accessing their knowledge has always required being in the right place. L'Oréal Professionel Paris wanted to change that: bringing live, interactive education to hairdressers regardless of where they are or what language they speak.
The ambition was clear. The execution – broadcasting simultaneously across 12 languages, with real-time interaction intact – was anything but simple.
The approach: a global production with local precision
Rather than a one-size-fits-all solution, L'Oréal Professionel Paris built a layered operation. Local market teams selected their interpreters – who besides language fluency, should have a deep familiarity with hairdressing terms and techniques. That detail mattered: industry-specific vocabulary can't be looked up mid-broadcast.
A dedicated agency managed the technical coordination between markets, handling simultaneous translation feeds and bridging communication between the production agency and Bambuser's live platform. The result was a broadcast that felt local everywhere, built on a single live event.
"This initiative democratizes access to global hair superstars – giving hairdressers worldwide the opportunity to learn from and ask questions to the highly successful pros they follow on social media, no matter where they are."

The result: a hybrid format viewers love
The feedback from markets and viewers has been consistently strong. To amplify impact, local teams organized ‘Watch Parties’. The masterclass was broadcast directly inside L'Oréal Academies, and followed by hands-on practical sessions. The combination of live digital access and in-person application proved especially powerful.
What viewers respond to most: the chance to learn from and interact directly with professionals they already admire – asking questions in real time, in their own language.

The next frontier: AI-powered translation.
The current setup relies on human interpreters – essential for handling industry-specific vocabulary and technical terminology that automatic tools still struggle with. But the team is watching closely as AI translation capabilities evolve. The goal is a future where high-performance AI can handle live, terminology-rich broadcasts instantly, removing the final barrier to truly frictionless global reach.
